Once upon a time, every single yesterday started out as a tomorrow before blossoming into today for a sweet, brief while.
Yesterday is where the memories reside, changing ever so slightly with the passage of time and perspective. Tomorrow contains potential, whether good or bad. Today is where the action lies.
All too often the focus is so intense on tomorrow that the action of today falls to the wayside, forgotten, neglected, ignored. There are other times when people focus too intently on yesterday, thus missing out on both the activity of today and the potential of tomorrow. That is much to lose with very little promise of gain.
Why is it, then, that with my intellectual comprehension of all this, I continue to make the same mistakes of focusing on the wrong things at the wrong time with the wrong level of passion? Why does anyone?
